A LOW FIELD INSTABILITY DUE TO COOLED ELECTRONS,

Abstract

A new type of instability in semiconductors is investigated. This instability, which is a lowfield instability, works only if the electron temperature is lower than the lattice temperature. A semiconducting material, in which optical phonon scattering is dominant, may have this property particularly if a strong longitudinal magnetic field is applied. (Author)
