CRYSTALLOGRAPHY OF UNIAXIAL STRAIN DEFORMATION,

Abstract

An analysis is developed for the rotation of an arbitrary crystal plane under conditions of unidirectional strain. A discussion is given that specifies realistic types of loading under which the analysis is applicable. Certain physical variables that are effected by reorientation of the crystal planes and that would influence the deformation process are considered. Types of deformation mechanisms that are effected are also indicated. (Author)
