BODY WEIGHT AND PAROTID FLOW.

Abstract

Parotid fluid samples (1,145) were collected from 403 healthy young adult males to ascertain the correlation between body weight and parotid flow rate. In four experiments samples were collected without exogenous stimulants and under the gustatory stimulation of peppermint, cherry, and grape candy drops. The rate of parotid gland function was found to be independent of body weight, regardless of the collection procedure employed. (Author)
