Abstract

A survey is presented of 21 Soviet and 37 non-Soviet works published prior to 1960 on the application of ACTH and adrenal cortical hormones for the prophylaxis and treatment of shock and hemorrhage. This analysis of the literary data shows that these substances are being used widely for these purposes and they are considered as antishock substances.
