ABOUT THE ENERGY OF ACTIVATING SELF-DIFFUSION IN METALS,

Abstract

A theoretical discussion is given from which the conclusion is made that metals with similar type of crystal lattice have the ratio of the energy of vacancy formation to the sublimation heat (per atom) at 0K. and the ratio of the energy of vacancy transfer to the sublimation heat/atom at absolute zero temperature both have constant values in the same way as the ratio of activation energy of self-diffusion along the vacancies to the sublimation heat/atom at 0K. has a constant value of 0.6.
