DETERMINING THE INSTANTANEOUS BLOOD VOLUME BY THE THERMAL DILUTION METHOD (VYZNACHENNYA KHVYLYNNOHO OBEMU KROVI METODOM TERMOROZVEDENNYA),

Abstract

The method of thermal dilution has advantages over other methods in that it can be used in many pathological conditions where the colorimetric or other methods would be impossible. It is safe and can be completed within short periods of time. In this method, a 0.85% solution of sodium chloride kept at room temperature is used as an indicator. The switch system proposed by the authors permits the use of the setup employed in dye indicator dilution studies. The formula for the calculation of thermal dilution and wiring diagram are given.
