NEW COAXIAL CABLE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD.

Abstract

Today, various types of insulation structure for coaxial cable are used; for example, disk type insulation placed longitudinally between inner conductor and outer conductor at regular intervals and herical insulation wound around inner conductor. These insulation structurers have been developed in order to get coaxial cables of low dielectric constant. We have recently developed a new type of 4.4 mm coaxial cable. In a cross sectional view of this coaxial cable, the inner conductor is crucially held right in the center by four polyethylene knobs jutting out of the inner surface of its thin polyethylene layer. The knobs and layer are integrated as one body. (Author)
