DIGITAL ERROR PATTERN ANALYSIS OF A CALIFORNIA TO NEW YORK H. F. RADIO TEST.

Abstract

The error pattern data recorded on a transcontinental U.S. path are analyzed and the resultant statistics presented in a format that will allow comparison with similar tests performed on other H. F. circuits. The operation of the DPSK modem used in the test program is analyzed and the effect the modulation technique has on the error pattern is discussed. Conclusions are drawn as to the structure of the error patterns and the possible cause of the clustered errors experienced on this path. (Author)
