ON DECOMPOSITIONS OF MATRIX SPACES WITH APPLICATIONS TO MATRIX EQUATIONS.

Abstract

A theorem on the decomposition of C superscript mxn, the space of mxn complex matrices, into a direct sum of orthogonal complementary subspaces is proved here as a consequence of the corresponding theorem in C superscript mn, the mn dimensional complex vector space. Applications to matrix equations are given. (Author)
