DEVELOPMENT OF MODERN FIGHTER AIRCRAFT,

Abstract

The fighter aircraft is the basic and most important aircraft in a modern air force. According to differences in characteristics and uses, interceptors may be divided into various types. At present, the trends of development of fighter planes lie in: higher speed at higher altitudes, increase of range, increase of versatility, still better equipment, solution of the VSTOL problem. While a part of present air-defense systems, they will supplement ground-to-air guided missiles and be used in coexistence with the latter. (Author)
