THE 'WHITE SPOTS' OF THE BRAIN ('BELYE PYATNA' MOZGA).

Abstract

The study of emotions (fear, hostility, etc.) with the aid of electrodes and chemicals introduced into the brain is mainly of a theoretical nature and so far remains within the confines of animal experiments although the future of this research is enormous since it will make possible to penetrate into the mysteries of human thought and behavior and will enable medicine to control more effectively the diseases of the brain and nervous system. Despite definite advances, the compilation of a chart of the cerebral cortex still exists in its rudimentary stage: 'white spots' as yet occupy a greater area than explored 'territories.' (Author)
