SOME DEVELOPMENTS OF FADDEEV'S THEORY FOR REACTIVE SCATTERING,

Abstract

The distorted wave Born approximation is shown to hold to second order in the transition matrix elements of Faddeev's theory of three particle scattering, and to hold beyond the limitations given by Greider and Dodd. Faddeev type equations are derived for a real and symmetric reactance matrix. Numerical calculations are facilitated by use of this matrix, and all approximations made on it retain unitarity of the transition matrix. The completeness of expansions for three body scattering problems are briefly commented upon. (Author)
