STUDIES OF THE ELASTIC SURFACE TRANSFORMATION PROCESS.

Abstract

The report presents the current status of the Elastic Surface Transformation Process and of the mathematical model pertaining to it. Materials and equipment are reviewed and the development of an elastic emulsion is discussed. Illustrative examples of EST-processed images showing improvements attained in contrast and edge definition are included. A quantitative theory relating element modulation and information transmission is discussed, and certain extensions and refinements to the model are presented. (Author)
