RADICAL CARBONIUM IONS. CARBONIUM ION RADICALS AND OXY RADICALS.

Abstract

It was originally proposed to study the possible occurrence of radical cations in reactions in solution and to investigate the mechanisms of reactions involving metallocenes. Later the project was expanded to include studies of the behavior of oxy radicals. The object of this latter project was to determine the details of reactions of organic compounds with triplet oxygen. Some progress has been made in all these areas. Greater emphasis was placed on metallocene reactions and on oxy radical behavior. In addition to the progress on the projects themselves, some useful techniques for kinetic measurement were developed. (Author)
