CALCULATION OF OSCILLATOR STRENGTH AND ESTIMATION OF THE ABSORPTION COEFFICIENTS IN CONJUGATED LINEAR POLYMER COMPOUNDS.

Abstract

In order to calculate the dichroism of oriented polymer molecules containing polyene units, it is necessary to know the oscillator strength of a polyene unit as a function of its degree of conjugation. Free electron and molecular orbital calculations of such oscillator strengths are extended for this purpose. (Author)
