DEVELOPMENT OF CONTRACT DESIGN 5003 FOR BEACH DISCHARGE LIGHTER MARK II,

Abstract

A history of the development of contract plans and specifications is given for the beach discharge lighter Mark 2. The report covers development of the design concept and technical characteristics from requirements of the qualitative materiel requirement (QMR) and design and work studies utilized in development of the contract design for an improved version. A summary of the design features is included. The report concludes that the requirements of the QMR have been fulfilled, and contract plans and specifications have been developed for a design that is a substantially improved version of the prototype beach discharge lighter.
