THE ADVANTAGES AND LIMITATIONS OF COMMONLY USED METHODS OF NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING,

Abstract

The report assesses the state-of-the-art in six commonly used methods and highlights their shortcomings as well as their field of useful application. The methods are: (1) Magnetic particle inspection, (2) Penetrant inspection, (3) Ultrasonic testing, (4) X-and gamma radiography, (5) Fluoroscopy, and (6) Eddy-current testing. (Author)
