HYDRAZINE-AIR FUEL CELL SIMPLIFICATION STUDIES.

Abstract

The purpose of the contract was the evaluation of simple concepts for small hydrazine-air fuel cell systems in the power range of 10 to 60 watts. The main objectives of the contract were: (a) the elimination of complicated fuel-injection devices and their associated electronic circuitry; (b) the activation of units rapidly with electrolyte containing high concentrations of hydrazine; (c) the evaluation of cell components for maximum performance characteristics, including efficiency, life, and water balance, and (f) the adaptability of the fuel battery for use in a 'hybrid' system.
