THEORETICAL THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF GASES AT HIGH TEMPERATURES AND DENSITIES WITH NUMERICAL RESULTS FOR HYDROGEN

Abstract

The partition function corresponding to an equation of state for a high-temperature, high-density gas suggested by J. S. Rowlinson was derived. The equations for selected thermodynamic properties of the gas are obtained from this partition function using statistical thermodynamics. These equations are used to calculate results for the case of hydrogen in the range of temperature between 500K and 3000K and in the range of density between 1 and 2000 amagats.
