PRESSURE SHIFTS OF INFRARED LINES, LOW-TEMPERATURE SPECTRA OF MOLECULES, AND TECHNIQUES OF INTERFERENCE SPECTROSCOPY.

Abstract

A summary is given of experimental and theoretical studies in the following subjects: Pressure-induced shifting and broadening of rotation and vibration-rotation spectra, and the study of intermolecular forces; low-temperature spectroscopy of polar impurities in non-polar crystals with application to lattice dynamics and intermolecular forces; analysis of noise and errors in Fourier-transform spectroscopy; refraction spectrum of individual vibration-rotation lines in the near infrared; general theory of collision broadening of spectral lines.
