EXPERIENCE IN PRODUCING COLD-PRESSED SEMIFINISHED ALUMINUM ALLOY PRODUCTS (OPYT POLUCHENIYA POLUFABRIKATOV IZ ALYUMINIEVYKH SPLAVOV KHOLODNYM PRESSOVANIEM),

Abstract

Cold pressing has the advantage that it dispenses with the need for the subsequent cold working of semifinished aluminum alloy products. In this connection, to determine the types of these products for which cold pressing is the most effective, rods, rectangular tubes and thin-walled irrigation pipe were experimentally cold-pressed in universal 600- and 1500-ton hydraulic presses with the aid of prestressed tools, on using high-molecular fatty alcohols as the lubricant.
