COLOR RATIO PYROMETER SYSTEM.

Abstract

Theoretical and experimental data are presented that establish the feasibility of designing a Color Ratio Pyrometer to be used with a jet engine stator blade test facility for making remote measurement of blade surface temperature. The pyrometer was designed and constructed to be usable over a temperature range of 1500F to 2000F with an accuracy of plus or minus 25F. The optical system is located 24 inches from the stator blade. A scanning system allows measurement of any preselected, 0.125-inch-diameter spot within a 4-inch-diameter field of view in the plane of the stator blades. (Author)
