A METHOD OF INVESTIGATING THE DISTRIBUTION OF PLASTIC DEFORMATION DURING DYNAMIC LOADING,

Abstract

Under static loading a cylindrical specimen deforms uniformly from both ends, but under dynamic loading the plastic deformation is localized at the impacted end of a cylindrical specimen. The cause of nonuniform deformation distribution in specimens depends on the nonuniform distribution of inertia forces in specimens under the effect of which the deformation takes place. A scheme was plotted in order to determine the effect of inertia forces on the deformation propagation induced by dynamic loading. (Author)
