'ORBITA'--COMMUNICATIONS VIA SPACE. SUPER-LONG-RANGE TELEVISION TRANSMISSION SYSTEM BEGINS OPERATION.

Abstract

The network of 'Orbita' stations - receiving points for television programs transmitted via 'molniya-1' communication satellites - is going into operation. More than twenty receiving stations were built in remote areas of Siberia, the Extreme North, the Far East, and in Central Asia. As a result of this accomplishment, Central Television programming is now being enjoyed by more than twenty million additional viewers.
