DISTRIBUTION OF PRODUCT AND QUOTIENT OF BESSEL FUNCTION VARIATES,

Abstract

The technique of Mellin transforms is used to obtain the distributions of the product and quotient of two independent Bessel function random variables. Two different types of Bessel function variates are considered. Applications of the results are given for the following special cases: chi-squared distributions, non-central chi-squared distributions, randomized gamma distributions, and folded Gaussian distributions.
