PLASMA PHYSICS AND RELATED TOPICS IN ASTROPHYSICS.

Abstract

This research has been concerned primarily with plasma phenomena of solar physics. Some phenomena of general interest have been studied; some of the solar problems involve plasma physics in only a minor way. However, the central theme of the research program has been the study of solar flares, solar radio bursts, and of structures such as filaments and streamers (all of which involve plasma processes), and the development of plasma physics theories to help understand these and related phenomena.
