INVESTIGATION OF PARTIALLY REFLECTED ECHOES FROM THE D-REGION OF THE IONOSPHERE,

Abstract

An experiment designed to enable observation of weak echoes, partially reflected from scatterers in the D-region, is described. The basic theory of partial reflections, including the manner in which electron density profiles are obtained, is presented along with an examination of some of the assumptions which the theory makes. The equipment developed to perform the partial reflection experiment is described in detail. (Author)
