FLAMES: KINETICS AND SPECTROSCOPY.

Abstract

A summary is given of work involving the chemiluminescence of low-pressure atomic flames. Several chemiluminescent reactions were established (including the O + C2O reaction); and the mechanism of energy transfer was established as the source of chemiluminescence in at least one flame. Also, a technique was developed to study the transition state involved in charge exchange between atomic ions and molecules.
