PERFORMANCE OF MISCELLANEOUS TASKS, FLEXIBLE UNEXPANDED HONEYCOMB FILLER FOR STRETCH AND WIPE FORMING 'K' AND 'Y' SECTIONS.
Abstract
Parts now being stretch or wipe formed require a filler or 'snake' to prevent the deformation of the sides of the extrusions, while in work. A new product, flexible, unexpanded honeycomb was proposed as a filler and results indicated an improvement in product quality, and costs are estimated to be comparable to materials presently used.
