BODY MOVEMENTS OF MAN IN A 1/6 'G' LUNAR ENVIRONMENT,

Abstract

This report describes some of the basic relationships of limb movement that operate and control the state of an individuals balance and are definitely associated with maintaining basic movements about the 1/6 gravitational reference point. The design engineer should realize the need for integrating the principles of equilibrium, the 1/6 gravitational reference, and the basic movements to obviate or alleviate the problems that might occur for lunar crewmen. The general design criterion adhered to is the utilization of the lunar gravitational field as the focal concept. Earth oriented behavioral patterns of man should not be forced into the lunar subgravity field. (Author)
