INHERITANCE OF XANTHINE DEHYDROGENASE IN DROSOPHILA MELANOGASTER.

Abstract

This report includes the following areas of research: xanthine dehydrogenase activity, estimates of combining ability in the XDH quantitative genetic system, mechanical vibration (in the ranges of 20 to 2000 Hz it is mutagenic), the effects of the frequency range and the g-force loading on the different control segments of the genetic systems, mutagenic induction of vibration stress, various genetically controlled traits (such as XDH) indicating mutagenic changes, mutagenic vibratory effects of aircraft (jet and propeller), effects of the space environment, and increased heterozygosity.
