AN ULTRAMINIATURE PLATED COAXIAL CABLE,

Abstract

The overall diameter of this cable is only .01 inches. Its outer conductor consists of a solid film of deposited copper .001 inches in thickness. The cable can be made in long, continuous lengths. The cable utilizes no threads for flexibility enhancement. The center conductor of this cable is composed of a single strand of AWG no. 42 wire. The base material (Phelps Dodge Alloy no. 135) is plated with 125 microinches of pure gold. The center conductor is coated with FEP Teflon to an overall diameter of .0084 inches. (Author)
