DRY SPRAT (AKZH) MEDIUM FOR THE DIAGNOSIS OF FOOD POISONINGS CAUSED BY CL. BOTULINUM AND CL. PERFRINGENS,

Abstract

This report describes a method of preparing and using a dry medium for the diagnosis of food toxinfections, caused by Cl. botulinum and Cl. perfringens of the types A, B, C, D, E and F. A dry autolysate prepared from the Caspian sprat waste with addition of nonorganic phosphate and magnesium salts, gelatine and sodium chloride were taken as the basis for this medium. The properties of this medium were tested by growing Cl. botulinum of the A, B, C and E types, and Cl. perfringens of the A, B, C, D, E and F types on it. (Author)
