HYPOTHALAMIC SECRETORY FACTOR FOR ADRENOCORTICOTROPIC HORMONE.

Abstract

The following subjects were investigated during the grant period, 1966-67. (1) Further development of the biological assay method for the hypothalamic secretory factor for ACTH, also known as corticotropin releasing factor (CRF). (2) Further investigation of methods for purifying CRF from bovine and ovine hypothalamic tissue. (3) Study of adrenal cortical steroid metabolites in monkey urine, preliminary to investigation of effects of CRF in monkeys. (4) Study of adrenal cortical steroid metabolites in human urine, preliminary to investigation of effects of CRF in man. (No clinical studies involving administration of CRF to man were conducted.)
