ANTISURGE DEVICE FOR THE AXIAL COMPRESSOR OF A TURBOJET ENGINE (PROTIVOPOMPAZHNOE USTROISTVO OSEVOGO KOMPRESSORA TURBOREAKTIVNOGO DVIGATELYA),

Abstract

The report introduces an antisurge device for the axial compressor of a turbojet engine. The unit contains a flexible band for covering the air bypass ports and a mechanism for controlling the band. The design is simplified and the overall dimensions are reduced by making the mechanism in the form of a piston-type servodrive with a spring-supported piston and a rod connected to the band. The band is held in the 'closed' position and is 'opened' by pressure of the air stream passing through the flow section of the compressor. (Author)
