DETERMINATION OF THE MEAN MOTION OF AN EARTH SATELLITE INDEPENDENTLY OF THE STATION COORDINATES ERRORS (OPREDELENIE SREDNEGO DVIZHENIYA ISKUSSTVENNOGO SPUTNIKA SPOSOBOM, NEZAVISIMYM OT POGRESHNOSTEI KOORDINAT MEST NABLYUDENIYA),

Abstract

This paper discusses the methods of observations and calculations which make it possible to determine the mean motion of an earth satellite independently of the errors of the station coordinates. Satellites with large inclinations i must be observed near the topocentric equator. Satellites with small i must be observed near the meridian of the station. The method consists in combining the equations of conditions for two observations at the same station into one equation of condition. The tolerances are given for the observations of this type.
