FORTY THOUSAND KILOMETERS,

Abstract

Forth thousand kilometers is the total length of railroad segments with functioning train radio communication. It is obvious that the establishment of good-quality reliable radio communication is a difficult matter, particularly where there are AC train-driving circuits: the operating conditions of the locomotive and station radio facilities are extremely complex. It was for the purpose of discussing the problems in the train radio communications sector and of exchanging ideas and on-the-job experience that a conference was held, attended by members of the Scientific Technical Council and the Signaling, Centralization, Blocking, and Communications Section of the Central Scientific Technical Society, scientists, and personnel engaged in the practical operation of the facilities discussed.
