MULTIPURPOSE PIC TELEPHONE CABLE SPLICING KITS,

Abstract

The concept of using a kit to cover a broad range of cable sizes has proven to be valid based on local tests. A kit was developed which fulfilled all of the program objectives. There were no failures of splices on the local tests. The splice can be installed in any environment with minor but important precautions: i.e., protection from rain during installation, and warming of the resin before mixing in a cold climate. After installation it is waterproof, highly resistant to heat, cold, fungus, humidity, and physical abuse. It can be installed aerially or underground and the standard kit covers a broad range of cable sizes. (Author)
