STRESS AND DEFLECTION ANALYSIS OF FIBROUS COMPOSITE MATERIALS UNDER EXTERNAL LOAD - FURTHER STUDIES.

Abstract

The report presents the fundamentals of applying the analytical method of point matching to the problem of fibers having transverse isotropy and transverse shear loading, and fiber arrays having irregular spacings. Irregular spacings are accommodated by a multiple-pole method of analysis, and the technique is formulated for a seven-fiber array. Considerable numerical results for overall composite elastic moduli and stress concentrations are given for fibers having circular, elliptical, square, and rhombic shape. A complete statement listing is given for the current, improved computer program in use. (Author)
