Abstract

Methods are analyzed for determining the relations which characterize a particular technological process. Knowledge of these relations make it possible to analyze a complicated process in its entirety and to determine the design of optimum process control. The methods described are based on the use of automatic mathematical models. As an example, models of steel smelting and arc furnace processes are worked out. Also analyzed are models of processes which are described by dimensionless nonlinear second and third order differential equations; the method of piecewise linear approximation of a continuous function of the output quantity is used in this analysis.
