COMBUSTION OF LIQUID FUEL DROPS IN A SOUND FIELD,

Abstract

An approximate method for calculating combustion rates of liquid fuel drops in a sound field is proposed. The method is valid provided that certain restrictions are imposed on the values of the dimensionless complexes characterizing a process. The main result of the paper is expressed by rho formula (22): (qR)/(D. rho) = 1.17 (B/(sq. rt. of (omega.D)))Beta; where q - quantity of fuel, vaporized in unit of time from unit of surface; rho - density of fuel vapors which relates the combustion rates to the sound oscillation parameters and to the intensity of a transverse flow of evaporating fuel vapors.
