A STUDY OF THE EFFECT OF TIME, TEMPERATURE AND MOISTURE ON BONDED INTERFACES IN 'BONDED JACKET' CABLE CONSTRUCTIONS,

Abstract

The test results reported in the paper further substantiate the original cable design concepts using the EAA copolymer. The stability and aging effects of the EAA copolymer and the bonds formed therefrom are most satisfactory for cable applications. In critical areas, the expected useful life of cable incorporating the 'bonded jacket' concepts is undoubtedly extended beyond that expected from conventional constructions without bonding. (Author)
