NEW LONG DISTANCE BROADBAND COAXIAL WITH LAMINATED AND CORRUGATED OUTER CONDUCTOR,

Abstract

The coaxial, which is expected to replace the older serrated-seam design, has an outer conductor of thin copper laminated adhesively to tin-plated steel. The outer conductor is corrugated to provide good bend performance and crush strength. A soldered seam fixes the electrical diameter of the coaxial and seals against undesired radiation. The major application of the laminated and corrugated coaxial will be in multicoaxial cable for long distance communications between people, computers and control systems. Another important use of the development is a better coaxial for CATV application. (Author)
