NEW METHOD FOR THE DIFFERENTIATION OF THE MICROBE OF ANTHRAX FROM BACILLI OF THE PSEUDOANTHRACIC GROUP (NOVYI METOD DIFFERENTSIATSII SIBIREYAZVENNOGO MIKROBA OT BATSILL PSEVDOANTRAKSNOI GRUPPY),

Abstract

The majority of the differential media used (blood agar, blood bouillon, OKELIANSKII's stained medium, litmus (lacmus) milk) are meant for the differentiation of the anthrax pathogen from Bao. anthracoides and Bao. pseudoanthracis, whereas for other morphologically similar soil saprophytes (Bao. mesentericus, Bac. mycoides and Bac. mogatherium) the mentioned media are not effective. Whereas the medium used was tested with positive results on various representatives of the large group of soil bacilli-aerobee. Utilizing the differential bile medium at-large, the question might arise whether or not a compulsory infection of the experimental animals would be necessary, if the mentioned medium were used independently.
