STEADY HEAT TRANSFER AT EXTREME VALUES OF THE PRANDTL NUMBER.

Abstract

The report is concerned with the boundary layer produced by a low-speed steady stream past a wedge-shaped body, the temperature difference between the body and the stream being large enough to affect the density of the fluid. For both large and small values of the Prandtl number, the velocity and temperature layers have very different widths, and it is useful to discuss the boundary layer in terms of inner and outer flows. By this means, approximate expressions for the skin friction and heat transfer at the surface of the wedge can be readily determined. (Author)
