NUMERICAL TREATMENT OF BIHARMONIC BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS WITH RE-ENTRANT BOUNDARIES.

Abstract

The failure of the standard finite-difference techniques produce an accurate approximation to the exact solution of a biharmonic boundary value problem for which the region of definition contains a re-entrant corner is considered. Variants of the methods proposed by Motz and Woods for solving a similar type of harmonic problem are applied to a particular biharmonic problem of this class. (Author)
