NUCLEAR APPLICATIONS PROGRAM.

Abstract

A program of experiments in the application of nuclear techniques and facilities to problems in nonnuclear areas was initiated in the Nuclear Physics Division in January of 1968. The program consists of two parts: (a) the analysis of materials using neutron or charged particle radioactivation or prompt radiation detection; and, (b) ion implantation of energetic heavy ions into solids.
