LONG-LIFE HIGH-REPETITION-RATE FLASH TUBES.

Abstract

The standard flash tube is designed for single-shot applications and has a life rating based on the energy per pulse. Recent optical pumps for laser applications require operation of flash tubes at high repetition rates. A new approach to achieving long life has been investigated utilizing different constructional techniques and new modes of operation. (Author)
