ENERGY DISTRIBUTION AND DOSE RATE OF GAMMA-QUANTA SCATTERED AT THE EARTH-ATMOSPHERE BOUNDARY,

Abstract

The authors study the angular energy distribution of scattered gamma-radiation from an isotropic point source (Co6O) at source-to-detector distances of 50 and 30 m and heights above ground level of 2-53 m. A method is proposed for determining the scattering field of gamma-radiation close to the boundary between two media based on an analysis of the results of this work and a comparison with the data in the literature.
