NOVEL SIGMA-BONDED TRANSITION METAL CARBORANE COMPLEXES.
Abstract
Reactions of 1,2-B10C2H11(-) and 1,10-B8C2H8(-2) ions with ((Pi-C5H5)Fe(CO2))2 in ether solvents produces sigma-bonded iron carborane complexes. The two complexes reported are 1-((pi-C5H5)Fe(CO2)-2-(CH3)-(sigma-1,2-B10C2H10)) and 1,10-((pi-C5H5)Fe(CO)2)2 - 1,10-(sigma-B8C2H8) which were prepared in 47 and 71% yield, respectively. (Author)
